Re: Feedback for this ROV design ?
Also this rov will work very well in the forward direction only. Consider vectored thrust or add a lateral thruster. Ok, so am I understanding correctly, this ROV will not be able to turn , and it will only be able to go up , down and forward and backwards. I was thinking if I run only the two thru...

Feedback for this ROV design ?
I have made a design of a ROV, and I wanted to ask the forum for feedbacks on the design. I want to know if its a good design, and if its actually build, will it perform well and efficency, all tue aspects that go towards a good ROV. Please tell me what I need to fix in the design to make the ROV be...

Re: The affect of RPM of a DC motor on the performance on a
Thank You guys for the replies, I will not be considering motors that have kv less than 1000. I have one question. Is there any equations that I can use to determine information about the chosen motor and the chosen propeller. This way I can calculate a lot of things about the ROV, and its movements...

Re: The affect of RPM of a DC motor on the performance on a
Thank You, for the reply. I have now convinced myself to use higher RPM motors , and the motors to be brushless motors. I seem to be confused on one thing. What kv , should I aim for when choosing a brushless motor? The voltage that I will be working with is 12. My ROV design, is pretty compact. 50c...

Re: The affect of RPM of a DC motor on the performance on a
Hello Steve, The main reason that I wanted to use a significantly low RPM brushed motors for my ROV, is so I can get a greater torque, and the brushed motors that I have chosen have low current on load. The motors that I am looking at, are one of these types :http://www.ebay.com/itm/For-ASLONG-JGA25...

The affect of RPM of a DC motor on the performance on a ROV
Hello guys, I wanted to ask how the RPM of a DC motor affect the performance / efficency and movement of a ROV. I was planning to build an ROV with low RPM motors , around 400 RPM to 600 RPM, and they will significantly have more torque than faster motors of those kinds. My question is, will the RO...

Re: Difference between right and left hand propellers ?
Thank You for the reply. The plan for my ROV is 50cm long, by 35cm wide and 35cm high. These are rough estimates as of now. Therefore the orientation of the propellers will not make a difference, due to the size of the vehicle ? So I can go with either left or right hand propellers ? Thanks for the...

Difference between right and left hand propellers ?
Hello, is there any major difference between left hand propellers and right hand propellers, and how can this affect the ROV ? Is it also correct, that having a propeller and rotating it one direction will make the ROV rise up,and rotating it the other direction, will make the ROV go down. And this...
