Re: Outrunner Underwater??

My printer isn't set up for nylon at the moment (working with PETG now) but the fact that nylon is said to absorb water got me thinking. Could it also absorb oil? Soaking a nylon bearing in oil for a while and make it self lubricating?

Re: Hello from Sweden

The purpose of multiple Arduinos is mainly performance (For instance the robotic hand alone will have several actuators and sensors) but also simpicity. One board - one task.
There's also an aspect of "because I can" in there...

Why so few hydrodynamic hulls?

I see very few hulls that are designed to be hydrodynamic. Why is that?
I'm going for an outer hull that will be somewhat hydrodynamic but foremost serve as protection for all the stuff inside (not watertight but house several wet, semi-wet and dry compartments).
Starting to question my choice...

An other 3D-printer

As I've spent most nights the last 3 months playing with my 3d-printer I have to give a word of warning. Don't get a Geetech Delta Rostock. I've had all sorts of problems and can't say that it has been worth it. I've gone as far as degrading it to only print PLA for prototyping and ordered an other ...

Re: Hello from Sweden

So many steps forward but still not started to build. I've been reading, searching, reading some more, ordered parts on eBay, bought a 3D-printer, learned to 3D-print, ordered an other 3D-printer, started doing some programming of Arduinos for the comms. All this and nothing real to show for it. I h...

Hello from Sweden

Been lurking around here for a while but finally registered. My plan (currently not more than a plan and material gathering) is a 1x0.62m ROV. It'll be used in freshwater, mainly lake "Vanern". Not aiming for any extreme depth (probably not deeper than 20m). Instead I plan to use it in dif...
