I have only mocked it up without gluing or sealing the unit, total cost $25 :) Now i need to figure out how to fit it to the Hull, im guessing I will have to fabricate something from stainless flat bar, to make a clampi...

Re: First ROV build
looking great! I think the chopping board is the way to go, its a bit of a pain to cut curves in, but nothing a file and sandpaper cant fix.
Im looking forward to seeing what you come up with

Viking ROV
Hi all, ive just finished building my ROV frame/hull, my inspiration came from Electrona's ROV which I thought was a fantastic robust design. I liked the idea of a solid rigid framed, I made it from a 13mm thick chopping board (Thanks Squidwood for the idea). The lights have been built using Steve's...

Re: Pingpong balls for tether buoyancy??
Ross thats a great idea, I will have to do some testing when i start on the tether. KR2 - The other idea i had was pushing ping pong balls down the length of a 30mm expanding braided cable sheath http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-30mm-Expanding-Braided-Cable-Wire-Harness-Sheathing-Sleeve-Sleeving-Harnessing...

Pingpong balls for tether buoyancy??
Hi All, I just wanted to see if anyone had tried ping pong balls for tether buoyancy? Looking at the math, they could be buoyant for up to 50 meters, and they are cheap, $2 for 10 balls. Here is the math - http://physics.stackexchange.com/questions/8846/how-deep-in-the-ocean-can-a-ping-pong-ball-go-...
