Re: Irish ROV Buildlog
I love it when it gets to the stage where one has something tactile to fiddle with. Good find on the software - I wasn't aware of it until your post ! Might have a butchers at that later =) I feel your pain with packing things away each time your done - i'm in the same boat - but your lack of space ...

Re: ROV - The "Spitoon"
Sketchup is now my new(rather clunky) friend. I've been primarily designing the layouts the last few days, and have started to upload models to the warehouse. So far there is only a 1:1 scale Bilgepump thruster i've created, but it's there if anyone wants to use it - my user name is "dirtyrhino...

Re: My ROV
True. You'd need to couple the Accl and tilt compass with maybe a depth sensor aswell. If your planning a hold in strong currents, maybe code in some additional "slop" in the accelerometer deadzone to compensate for more severe pitch and yaw, and perhaps tighten up the compass movement thr...

Re: ROV from Croatia
Good to see you back on the build ! Looking good dude =)
Nice to see you've got the differential control on the PS2 stick to work so smoothly. I'm having a huge headace coding the differential switchover/deadzone on mine.
You can't be far off completion now, i'd imagine ?

Re: The Zoidberg ROV
Nice - I love ballast control - it's actually hard to do it properly, so Kudos to your build =). My model sub I retrofitted with a ballast piston pump is amazing - so much fine control over depth. I WISH the waters here in my area of the UK were that clear !! Liking the LCD - i'm contemplating the s...

Re: dont you just love google SketchUp!!
VERY nice design work - VERY nice. Although it's VERY clunky ( I'm an Autocad advocate ) it's quite satisfying once you get past the interface and learn to work WITH the software rather than against it. Drawing a dome is somewhat involved, but works a charm. Could i ask How did you managed to make t...
