Re: Anyone using the Blue Robotics electronic package ?

Hi Lost Bob,

I purchased the complete electronics package and have been very happy with it.

I am actually using it with six of the BR Blue Esc Thrusters so there are no ESCs in the WTC.

Internal temperature in the WTC when operating on the bench is around 50 deg C.

Regards,

Re: Joystick controller to replace Xbox360 or Logitech F310

Hi Steve, Thanks for the kudos, much appreciated. To answer your question about the button functions: The three black buttons along the bottom of the front panel control the ROV modes: manual, stable, and depth hold. The two buttons (black and yellow) next to the joystick control camera center (blac...

Joystick controller to replace Xbox360 or Logitech F310

Hi All, For those of you with either a BR1 or BR2 ROV, here is my completed joystick controller that can take the place of either the XBox 360 or the Logitech F310 and uses a HFX Hall Effect joystick and 10k 1% linear pot to take the place of the two resistive style joysticks. Forward, backward, lef...

Re: Blue Robotics T100 Bilge Pump Conversion

Hi Steve, Nice work, but one of the problems with the Bilge Pumps is the pesky rubber seal used to seal the motor shaft and prevent water from entering the motor cavity. I suspect that it is really not depth rated as bilge pumps are not designed to be submerged very deep in the bilge water. Regards,...

Re: How useful are cable glands?

@Bennachie, Don't know about cable glands, but I make my own bulkhead cable penetrators using these components: Blue Robotics cable penetrator https://www.bluerobotics.com/store/connectors/penetrator-10-25-a/ Loctite Marine Epoxy https://www.bluerobotics.com/store/tools/loctite-marine-epoxy/ Assembl...

Re: Experimental ROV Design using Blue Robotics Components

Hi All, Finally got the Electronics Tray all cabled up, the buoyancy fairings, and the ballast weights installed on the Frame and a vacuum test of the two WTCs.So I was ready to put the ROV in my 38 gallon test tank. The biggest problem I had prior to being ready to test was getting the Power Cable ...

Re: Experimental ROV Design using Blue Robotics Components

Hi All, I have completed the calibration of the Electronics Tray which included the accelerometers, compass, and battery monitor. I also verified the functionality of the baro 30 external pressure sensor, added the SOS Leak Sensor board and mounted the four Leak Sensor probes on the Tray. Now I am r...

Re: Experimental ROV Design using Blue Robotics Components

Hi All, Due to the holidays, progress has been somewhat spotty, but I have made some progress nonetheless. I have coated the Power Distribution Board with eight coats of MG Chemicals 4229 Connector Coating2 allowing at least four hours of curing time between coats. The connector coating was recommen...
