Re: KR2 ROV
Don't you need to turn the horisontal thrusters 90 degrees?
The way they are now your rov will not be able to turn arround its own axis.

Re: Does size matter?
Comparison between the first "printprop" and the new, large one. 1.JPG 2.JPG First test.. not so promising. All done on 15V 3.JPG Compared to the first and smaller version this is much worse. HERE I will give it one more try with reduced pitch and different shape of the blades maybe. But I...

Does size matter?
So this is mostly just for fun. But who knows, maybe it's not a bad idea? I made a bigger thruster, but still using the same motor as on my previous 3d printed thruster. The inner diameter of my previous thruster was 67mm. on this one its 110. So it's quite a bit larger. It is ready for the testbenc...

Re: Batteries
The C rating defines how much current that battery can deliver safely. In your example: 5000mah is the same as 5AH. Don't know why they use mAH for these, but they do. So mAH devided by 1000 gives you ampere hours. 5Ah x 30C = 150 amps If the battery had 20C it would "only" deliver 100amps...

Re: Outrunner Underwater??
You are absolutely correct. Finding a good material and using a lathe to machine it down to the correct sizes is better. However, I don't have access to a lathe, but I have a printer and nylon filament for it. :) I still think this will be usable though. I will keep using printed bushings as I go fo...

Re: Outrunner Underwater??
Last update on the printed bushings. Done testing for now. Perhaps 15h total run time in water with no sign of wear or degradation. I believe they will hold up well in water. Now I also tested them bone dry 100% throttle and they lasted maybe 30-40 seconds before one of them melted. This bushing was...
