Re: 750kv Brushless Thruster Design Explanation / Assembly

Hi,

I drilled out the 4mm hole with a US #19 drill bit, then used an M5 tap to thread the new hole. There is plenty of material left around the hole even after drilling the old hole out and tapping it as well.

Thanks,
Nick

Re: PS2 Controller + Arduino Control System

Hi, If you put four 12v batteries in series the voltage adds to 48v, then 48v goes down the tether to the ROV, and inside the ROV you use a 48v to 12v converter so the motor controllers can operate at 12v, which is also about where most work best. Here are the 48v to 12v converters I am using: http:...

Re: PS2 Controller + Arduino Control System

Hi tcholas, Cat6e would work, but I know it will not be as flexible as Cat5e, and unless you need a cable rated for a 10 gig connection, then I think it will be way overkill. Any reason for cat6e? The DC to DC converters convert 48v to 12v @ 10A. This allows the use of thinner wire in the tether, an...

Re: Custom ROV Circuit Board - Arduino Based

Hi, @SSN626B Thank you and yes - I made that using google forms which is not as advanced as I would like. I will see if I can change that. Go ahead and send me an email at njs552@gmail.com with the full order. And yes it is through PayPal, that seems to work best. @oldsirhippy SSN626B got there firs...

Re: Custom ROV Circuit Board - Arduino Based

Hi, 1) Yes - supply voltage is 8-12v. You can plug the whole servo connector from the ESC into the board. The red wire(center pin) is not connected to anything on the board. 2) Right now I have a video overlay board in one version of my code, so that I can put sensor readings and such on top of the ...

Re: Custom ROV Control System Update

@Oldsirhippy: You can buy a set of boards for sure as soon as they are available. I should be getting most of the materials this week, so I should be able to start assembling them soon. @jonnyhas: I can't wait to see what it turns out to be too :) I keep changing things as I try stuff and find out w...

Custom ROV Control System Update

Hi, This is an update on my ROV Control System. I posted a few months back about my ROV Control Board, and now I have the other half of the system up and running. Here is the original post: http://www.homebuiltrovs.com/rovforum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1159 I custom designed two circuit boards to ma...

Re: Custom ROV Circuit Board - Arduino Based

Hi,

Thanks, and yes - I will be selling both boards. I am waiting on more components before I start assembling topside boards, because I underestimated how many boards I will sell and have ran out of components a few times.

I will make sure to post here when they are available.

Thanks,
Nick

Re: Custom ROV Circuit Board - Arduino Based

Hi SSN626B, Sorry I didn't respond sooner, I have been pretty busy these last few days. I have not done the 2nd order yet because I decided instead to have my Surface Interface board made first. Now that I have that done and working, I am going to order another batch of boards, so if I order them ne...
