Re: VOLTAGE DROP
another option maybe to make a something like a garage with the batteries in that the rov can move out of at a certain depth.
think link is sort of what im trying to say https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgFonmHL90E
although you you have to make or buy a winch to reel the rov back in

Re: voltage drop
not sure what u mean but id be running 50 or 70 metres (depending on the voltage drop) of 16 gauge (AWG) wire as the power source for everything on the rov and then using a separate cat 6e wire to control relays to control the thrusters. using a 12v battery I just want to know how much voltage I hav...

voltage drop
hey all Ive pretty much got the design for my rov figured out but... I was wondering if someone could tell me how many volts wold be left at the load (Thrusters) if I was using three 12v bilge pumps drawing 5 amps each over a 50 or 70 metre tether using one common 16 gauge phone wire for power? Any ...

Re: controlling the ROV
Thanks guys for your responses
I think if I can ill get my hands on some relays
it sounds like the best option
thanks again,

controlling the ROV
hey all
I was wondering if someone could tell me if its better to use relays to control the ROV with 1 common power wire or Monetary switches with separate leads running down the tether?
Much Appreciated

tether apmridge drop
this might sound dumb but I was wondering how you get the electricity to the thrusters without a huge amp drop through resistance. so I know that the longer the distance between power source and thruster = the slower the props spin. is it something to do with a transformer? if so could someone pls e...

hey my rov hasn't even left the drawing board yet im finding out the best camera to use. I am on a very tight budget and was thinking of using a laptop webcam as my camera would it work in low light conditions? and I know they are low resolution so im going also going to mount a gopro somewhere on t...
