Re: Thruster placement

I was leaning toward the axial, so I think that is where I will start. For what I am doing that will probably be the best. I guess on the Bluerobotics the extra vertical thrusters are like you said, for lifting. I will probably do two horizontal and two vertical and maybe add the lateral later. Than...

Thruster placement

I started a ROV project several years ago and have made so many mistakes, I decided to start over. For my thrusters, I am going to 3D print ones like at https://www.bluerobotics.com/product-category/rov/bluerov2/. My first question is about thruster placement. I would like to go pretty fast wherever...

Re: Arduino to ESC.

Another book that I would highly recommend is The Arduino Cookbook by Michael Margolis. It has "recipes" for almost everything you would need for your ROV. Controlling motors, sensors, Arduino to Arduino communication, displays, etc. are included. You could get it on Ebay and save some cas...

Quadcopters

Has anyone ever thought of using ideas from the Quadcopter world? The controllers are pretty cheap and include a lot of smarts. I really like the thought of "Flying" through the water.

Re: my relay is keep burning

Are you sure the relay is rated for 60A? That is a big relay. Do you have a part number of the relay?

Pro Thrusters

Does anyone make Thrusters that are Pro quality but priced in the range of the average person? CrustCrawler has some nice ones but at $600 they are out of my price range.

I know this isn't scientific, but I just added weight until it sank.

Re: ROV-Control V3

Is this all PC driven? No joystick control. Will it work with MAC?

Re: Dc Motor Problem

Everything needs to match. Only run 24VDC to the motors. Only run 12VDC to the relays. As said before, you are exceeding the capacity of your equipment. If your power is 48VDC, you will have to convert the voltage for the motors and relays.
