Re: Schedule 80 vs. Schdule 40

I don't think it has anything on acrylic domes. The info in it is pretty basic. It just deals with basic cameras and grippers and stuff like that.

Re: Schedule 80 vs. Schdule 40

I've got the frame sorted out, now I need a substitute for the floats. I think 100mm is too big and so is 90mm the book says 76mm, but I don't know if my hardware store carries anything around that. The best i can find is 80 and 65. But , if I had to chose, should I go with the 65mm or the 80mm

Re: Schedule 80 vs. Schdule 40

Thanks for the info. I looked online and found out that since the Sch 80 pipe has a larger overall diameter, it may not be a good substitute for the Sch 40. I am not able to find any 12mm pipe anywhere here. Do you think 10mm will be a good substitute? I built ROV frame earlier, but that one didn't ...

Schedule 80 vs. Schdule 40

I'm build my ROV using the instructions found int the book Build Your Own Underwater Robot and Other Wet Projects by Harry Bohm and Vickie Jensen. I'm having a little bit of supply issues with constructions of the Seafox ROV. The instructions in the book say that I need: -1/2 inch Schedule 40 PVC Pi...

Re: GPH of Bilge Pumps

I'm also wondering which GPH I should use. I've been thinking of using Rule 1100gph pumps for my ROV. It's only designed to go have a 100ft tether. I'm going to use a 12v power supply (probably a car battery). My ROV is a similar design to the sea fox retrofit design. So, my question is, Should I go...

Re: Relays VS Momentary Flip Switch

So like on a scale of 1 to 10 (first time soldering) how would you rate the difficulty of wiring the relays and the joystick?

Relays VS Momentary Flip Switch

I'm completely new to soldering and to building ROVs. I would like to know if I should go with a simple setup using momentary flip switches as shown here in Figure 1. Or if I should use relays and Joysticks shown here in Figures 2 and 3. I personally want to use the joystick method because its easie...
