How about using PVC floats with foam inside? Or even using something like Great Stuff. A person could fill a 8' section of PVC with Great Stuff, let it cure, then cut the sections to appropriate lengths and cap the ends. I was working on an rov about 25 to 30 years ago. now things are very different. One of my ideas for building a housing was to pressurise it. I repaired SCUBA and other types of regulators so I was very familiar with the principles of operation. BY modifying a regulator it could be mounted on a ROV...

1,000 foot tether possible?

Pretty new to the underwater ROV world, but I know that I want to explore shipwrecks on the Great Lakes. Lake Michigan, at it's deepest point is 934 feet. I have the boat, have the computer, designs for an ROV, but I'm struggling with a tether that would be long enough to reach the bottom of the lak...
