Hi all,
Im looking at purchasing a Blue Robotics kit in any stage of completion. Mostly after the hull and thrusters, but other parts may also be handy.
Cheers

Re: Camera advice gopro for rov
HDMI is only good for a very short distance (5 m or so). For a HD live feed from the GoPro you would need to convert the HDMI to SDI and transmit over high bandwidth coaxial.

Re: Waterproof point and shoot with tv out
Here is another option for a camera system: Use a 0.1lux camera as a pilot feed, and then attach a GoPro to the frame below where the pilot camera is mounted, and you can record in 1080p HD, with almost the same perspective, and not worry about a modified housing on a GoPro leaking. njs552 this is ...

Re: Otterbox
I have epoxied the threads, however, the nut of the gland sits flush on top of the otterbox. This nut is epoxied to the otterbox, so I believe the gland will be waterproofed at that point, ie water will not penetrate past the nut, so water will not be in contact with the threads. I will also be usin...

Re: Crazy idea.
I would assume 3D is used commercially because it allows for much better depth perception and therefore, more accurate, cost effective work. Importantly, it also allows the images to be used to make direct measurements...eg you can measure (using the appropriate software e.g SeaGIS) the lengths of ...

I posted this reply to a similar query in the camera section; I'm not sure what your budget is, but Sandisk V-Mates are very easy to use, and probably less than $100 in the US

Re: video capture directly to external hard drive
Hi Chiliman Sandisk v-mates take an analog signal and records onto an SD card. You could plug your RCA (with a 3.5 mm adapter) straight into the Vmate http://www.sandisk.com/Assets/File/pdf/retail/vmatebrochure.pdf I have used them in the past with CCTV cameras. If you cant find them online anymore,...
