Re: ROV for college project
Been a while since I last posted and the design of my ROV has changed a lot! I decided to ditch the idea of the Pi and use a Beaglebone black with an OpenROV 2.7 controller board. This was far simpler and there is a lot more help available for this set up. The idea of infra red lights was ditched af...

Prop adapters
Hello, I have used these on my Rule bilge pumps and they work really well. I don`t have the equipment or time to make my own, all I needed to do to make them fit the 3.17mm shaft on the pump was use a 1/8" ream to open it up. Cheap as chips and work well. 8-) http://www.banggood.com/2mm2_3mm3mm...

Re: ROV for college project
Hi, I have made a few alterations to the design of my ROV. It will now be running relays rather than DPDT switches. I will be using Steve,s guide for this! The tether will be 29m, as I can only find 3/8th hollow braided rope in 30m lengths here in the UK. The Raspberry Pi and other electrical parts ...

Using bike innertubes to control buoyancy
Hi, I,m wondering if it is possible to use bike inner tubes to get the neutral buoyancy right on my ROV. The tubes would be housed in a 4 inch piece of waste pipe with holes drilled in, and the valve to inflate or deflate sticking out of the side. Two 4 inch pipes would be fitted to the top rails of...

Powering my IR Camera?
Hi guys, i,m just wondering how i should power my camera. It is an IR one, with 36 LEDS or something like that. I,m just wondering if i should run it from the truck battery i,m going to use to power the ROV, or if i should buy a seperate one? Do they use a lot of power with all those LEDS? Would a 1...
