Re: draw, thrust, and components
Hi, have any of you experienced that the motor is stalling when you are running at low rpm? My last thruster setup stalled and made a squeeking noise after a very short period of time running in the test bench.. This was a outrunner 450kv turnigy and 30a esc.

Re: 3d printer would solve alot of problems
Hi, I have the solidoodle 2 3d printer for m ROV project. But fount out that it is just not good enought for very accurate shapes. So to be able to make my thruster housings I had to fist 3d-print them just a little to big, and use a lathe to finish it of. For smaller brackets (ect inside the hull t...

Re: Plans For a Ducted Fan
Most ESC need two reverse signals, the first brakes the motor and the other one reverse it. If you fin a esc with rock-crawler mode you can put the motor in instant reverse, this will ease the programming a bit.

Re: New Thrusters for Cheap!!
Hi, is it possible to open this thruster so you can swop the motor with a brushless one? if it is possible to change the motor and oilfill the housing you have a thruster.

Re: My new BLOG
The hoses to the thrusters will act as compensators, really dont think you need the baloon.. have you made the ESCs yourself? Can you run the motors directly into reverse without breake? That is an issue I have om my thrusters, i have to give the the thruster two reverse signals to actually get reve...

Re: Motor Draw and Stall Amps
The 3.25 amp draw is the current you get with the internal resistance of your ampmeter. If you had a more powerful battery you would blow the fuse in your ampmeter. Always mesure amps in series with the circuit, and volts in parallell.

Re: rov filled with non conductive oil
Importaint thing to consider when using oil-compansation is that clock-crystal and capasitors doesnt take the pressure. You must use tantalum capasitors. This is why I use compensation only on the thrusters on my project, and solid aluminium hulls and camera housing.
